First, of course:

hope you all had Merry Christmases of your very own!

We had a fabulous Christmas. Lots of toys and food and goodwill towards man (even family!). And, like, no toddler meltdowns (though Rudolph & Heffalump movies helped a lot with that). Grownups had champagne and fun with speakerphones and a good time watching everybody open their presents, and we experienced an unheard of level of simpatico--from wooden food toys, to tequila, and from pearls, to all things italian, we were all of like minds this year.

This is my fave pic that we took of the dub, but the rest of our (few--we forgot to take the camera to gigi's. Sorry) pictures can be seen on this page

papa and the dub at lakeview farms last weekend. you take a train from the barn to the pumpkin patch and ride a boat back once you've picked your pumpkins. pdub was kinda crabby in the pumpkin patch, but he had a good time rinding that train.

it's been a little while since we've posted a picture...a new one will be up in a moment, but first: more fingerpainting fun from back in August!

also, september means festival season, starting next weekend with the mt. angel oktoberfest (and maybe even something about pears in hood river) and the alberta street fair.

after that it's non-stop fun (and photos), with still more oktoberfests, pirate days, flock and fiber festivals, pumpkin patches, and more harvest festivals than you can shake a scarecrow at.

even though it's a bit cold this week, whenever we go into the backyard the pdub's first question is always "water?".

happily, though, he'll play with the hose even when the water is shut off.

a couple of weeks ago, the dub grabbed his papa and dragged him out to the "ladybugsandbox" (said as fast as humanly possible) before b even had the chance to get out of work clothes.

i, of course, ran for the camera.

abuelita came over the other day (and gigi, too!) and brought finger paints along. it took a little while to get into the swing of things, but he had a great time mixing colors and making shapes.

but i think he had the most fun painting himself.

so here's the dub, hanging out with eggs. he likes to take them out one by one, look them over, and put them back. they're like his favorite toy right now (which is great, since they're way cheaper than an x-box)

i know change can be weird, but in this case, i think it's going to be so cool. hope you do to!
